Lately we have been collaborating with Korean based Architects of MASS Studies on a temporary installation on Seoul City Plaza: a 2.500m2 tensile structure formed a dynamic light tornado for the 1 week HiSeoul Festival. Check out some of the project snapshots here.

Himmelb(l)au architects and two facade installation in Singapore which are
scheduled for completion in late 2008.
// EXHIBITIONS
25.04. till 30.05.08: The spectacular dynamic facade design for the "Espacio de Creación Artística Contemporánea", a media art centre in Cordoba to be comleted in 2009, is the result of a close collaboration of realU and Nieto Sobejano architects from Madrid, Spain, and will be presented as part of Nieto Sobejano's show at Aedes Pfefferberg Galery in Berlin.
Also Basel based S AM (Swiss Architectur Museum) presents the collaborative facade design with the new show "Re-Sampling Ornament". From 01.06. till 21.09.08 the exhibition excavates a lost language of ornament, juxtaposing historical references with ground-breaking international projects.
// RECENT PUBLICATIONS
Goethe Institute presents
realities:united in the current "Portrait of the Month" on their Japanese
Designlines Website. The article is available in Japanese as well as in
German. Spacecraft
is the titel of a new book featuring our MuseumX among a beautiful selection of "fleeting
structures that only exist for a limited time" and "spaces that
are used temporarily".
// ADC SILVER AWARD & DESIGNPREIS 2008
After realities:united was awarded silver at
this years German Art Director
Club Awards for the conception & design of the installation MuseumX,
the temporary representation of Museum
Abteiberg in Moenchengladbach now also has been nominated for the Designpreis
2008, Germany's only offical Design Award. The winners will be announced
in 2008...
// AGENCY OF THE YEAR 2007
05.04.07; The German Art
Director Club has published the "Creative Ranking 2007" which
is based on the results of this years Art Director Club Awards: realU has
been honoured with one out of 10 titels which were awarded in Germany as "Agency
of the Year 2007 for Communication in Space".
// NEWSWEEK: THE DESIGN DOZEN
The US magazine Newseek
has chosen the PowerPlant project as one of the 12 hottest designs in 2006.
PowerPlant is a large scale urban lighting scheme for the Glenarm Innovation
Corridor in Pasadena (California, USA). The project is the result of a cooperation
between realities:united and Nik
Hafermaas. A first prototype is under construction and will be finished
later this year - stay tuned for more information...
